Review of Olympic 527 black navy outdoor camera sling shot bag backpack for digital SLR cameras and 3 lenses

I purchased this bag for a Nikon D90 and it has worked very well.It has a clever side load system allowing you quick access to the camera by unzipping the cover only partially and to the whole compartment when fully unzipped.The main compartment stores the camera with a small zoom and lens hood attached.I carry a flash unit and an ac/dc power supply but the power supply could easily be another lens.There is a good size top compartment for accessories and several zippered pouches for cleanning equipment, spare batteries, cables and the like.

The bag is a sling shot type bag, meaning that it has a single shoulder strap which is very comfortable.For ‘day trippin’” the bag feels fine just placing the strap over your shoulder.For a more secure feel, there is a strap that runs around the back, holding the pack tight and keeping it from slipping off.

The bag is well built with well designed use of space.If it is big enough for your equipment, I highly recommend this bag.

Pros:
Pockets EVERYWHERE.Stores practically anything you would need for your camera.VERY comfortable when worn.Adjustable interior if you want to rearrange to fit your equipment.Heavily padded to protect your precious camera inside.Tamrac has accessories that attach to this bag to make a great product even better.

Cons:
Not exactly the quickest access for getting to your gear.Tamrac does offer other bags that will give you quicker access but this one had other features that were more important for me.

I searched for these after I saw them reccommended in a digital photogrpahy book.The author reccommended them as a fantastic money saver.He was right!I’ve taken some amazing macro shots with them since!Even one where you can see my reflection on the tip of a fine point, ball point pen.

Review of Nikon Carrying Case and Rechargeable Battery Kit for Coolpix 2200 & 3200

Got this item for my Nikon digtial camera that recommended using this type of rechargable battery. The initial charge took all night and still didn’t charge completely. The discharge button “Refresh” is suppose to discharge the battery then charge it to minimize “charge memory” was also very slow and on many occasions locked up forcing me to remove the batteries and redo the process before getting a sucessful recharge. As for perfomance, it was average to mediocre depending on flash with the Coolpix 5600. This was due to a setting in the camera software where I had to set the camera to coolpix batteries. The other two choices were regular alkaline and other rechargeable battery brands. After making the proper settings the batteries performed very well. I got this charger as part of an accessory set with 4 batteries and carrying case. The camrera I have is a Coolpix 5600. I can recommend these batteries but to get the initial charge takes some work and if the user didn’t read the entire manual for the camera (126 pages) the battery performance would be mediocre. There wasn’t anything to direct me to check my camera software. An average non-tech person would have had poor results. The camera needs a way to automatically sense the Coolpix batteries.

Bought the Tamrac Adventure 7 Photo Backpack as part of a kit including a tripod and accesory kit from Cameta Camera. My shipment came really quickly with no problems or delays…would buy again from this seller. I own a Nikon D80 and wanted an inconspicuous camera bag that would not draw attention and would be good to travel with. I initially checked out the Tamrac Adventure 6 at my local Circuit City and the bag just seemed a little on the small side, so I decided to order the Tamrac Adventure 7 which is larger but of the same design. Overall the bag is perfect for my camera gear…the bottom compartment is very customizable for any configuration or type of gear. I currently do not have extra lenses or flash guns so I configured it to carry my D80 lens first in the center with a Canon P&S on one side followed by the D80 charger and cords on the other side. The outer pocket is quite small and mainly good for memory cards and extra batteries if they are not too large. The top compartment is roomy enough to hold snacks or other items for hiking and makes this bag a perfect choice for traveling. I am very impressed with this bag so far and the only thing to note is that it is difficult to remove your camera whilst the bag is on your shoulder. This is not a problem for me so far as I just did not want a standard over the shoulder bag. The tripod that came with the kit is a great starter tripod but I do intend to upgrade to a more expensive model for travel and hiking that’s lighter and more compact.
