I was thrilled when I received the camera bag. This is a Christmas gift for my daughter-in-law who has a professional camera with all the lenses and extras. My son and I had been looking for a bag at many, many stores both in person and on-line. The bag is a perfect size and a tremendous value. Review of Lowepro Nova 160 AW Camera Bag (Chestnut Brown)

This bag fits the Canon Rebel Xsi perfectly. I wanted a bag that was small enough to be truly portable and not look like I’m a photography nut. The bag snugly fits the camera with the the 18-200 lens attached and my kit lens (18-55mm) and my 50mm lens in the bag. I also store my SD cards, battery, charger, and some cables. That is it! If you want a bag that stores more then 3 lenses (one being attached) and the camera – then you have to go bigger.If you are like me and a minimilist who just wants a case that will carry the very basics – and is on the small side- this is the bag!

Review of Nikon Circular Polarizer II Lens Filter 62mm

This 5mm thin filter is made with precision and quality.You can count on pretty much any Nikon products that are made within the highest standards.I have several other brand polarizer but this one is one of the best looking ones.I’ve stacked this filter and 3mm Hoya ultra thin on my 12-24mm Nikkor and due to its excellent sky darkening effect can hardly notice any vignetting problems even at the shortest focal length.The only problem is that depending on the angle of sunlight you may get uneven sky darkening effect on a wide angle lens.I’m a big sucker for polarizer filter and 90% of my work is done with it.Graduated Neutral Density filter sometimes can give better result on sky darkening effect depending on light condition.

If you have the money just buy it; you won’t regret it.If you want to spend less money, go ahead and get some other polarizer at half price.Taking great pictures is about observation, not about owning great equipments.

Works flawlessly, has great range, can autofocus with a 1/2 press on controller.Great product.I was taking pics using the controller and a tripod, camera slipped from tripod and I caught the weight of the D80 Nikon and a 600mm lens with the cord of the remote that was plugged into the camera body.It bent the heck out of the plug-in (more then 45 degrees), and the thing still works fine.Really great product.

Review of M-ROCK Teton 514 Top-Load Holster Digital SLR Camera Case (Black)

This is a very nice camera bag, however it is a bit big to be considered a holster.I originally purchased it for my new D300 with a 18-200 AF lens and battery pack, which is larger that most of the other Nikon SLRs, but this pack is probably twice the size as it needs to be to qualify as a holster and still fit the Nikon D300.I gave it 4 stars because of the quality.

Review of Nikon MB-D80 Battery Grip for D80 and D90 Digital SLR Cameras + (2) Spare EN-EL3e Lithium-Ion Battery Packs

I have purchased this product back in 2007. It was shipped by Cameta Camera which is a reliable camera company. The package contents included the Nikon Branded, USA Warrantied MB-D80, but unfortunately included generic brand En-EL3e compatible batteries.

The MB-D80 works excellent. It thankfully fits the D80 perfectly. It doesn’t awkwardly bulge or stick out like the grips on the Canon XT’s. The MB-D80 has a designated slot to slip the D80 battery cover in, a metal tripod socket, shutter button, both control wheels, and a 6 Cell AA battery holder to slip into the MB-D80 when En-El3e(‘s) are not available. I shutter release on the MB-D80 is sensitive, but thankfully has a shutter switch lock, both just like on a D2x. The MB-D80 fits and looks as if it is permanent on the D80.

Now onto the… batteries. Unfortunately, the batteries are both generic, which means they are not a perfect fit. The batteries seems a little small (1-2 millimeters smaller) and don’t have a tighter fit like a Nikon brand En-EL3e. This means that the MB-D80 will loose connection to the generic En-EL3e battery and cut power. This becomes a frustration when shooting on the fly. I makeshifted by folding a 1″ x1″ piece of paper to fill in the left over space between the battery and compartment door. Also from my observation experience, when using any En-EL3e battery with the MB-D80, keep in mind that the D80, doesn’t use both batteries at once, so the battery levels will deplete battery 1 first, then battery 2.

I’d recommend that it may be wise to at least purchase Nikon brand batteries, since it will guarantee operation and compatibility.s

Review of Opteka BP-D80 Battery Grip for Nikon D80 & D90 Digital SLR

I got this product about April ’08. I’m quite pleased with it. Most reviews rate it higher than the MB-D80 from Nikon. I get two batteries in the camera, while the third charges. The lock ring tightens very well on mine (read about others having problems) if you put a little umph on it.

The AA battery insert is a nice feature for emergencies. The shutter button on it is not quite as smooth as that on the camera. I’d like to see that improved. I get the sub-command dial and the command dial in the vertical position. It also has a power switch for the grip, to save a little bit of juice when not in use.

The feel is well built and sturdy. It is lighter than I expected, but not cheap feeling at all. The rubber grip appears to be well made and has stood up well to many long hours of sun, heat, and sweat. I have a sure grip even with the sweatiest hands. The ability to have a second battery is easily worth the price of the unit. The only thing missing is a second card slot!

The instructions aren’t the best, but what’s to know. Plug in, turn on. Not quite as sturdy feeling as my old Canon grip, but tougher than it seems at first and well made. The shutter button could use a little work, though.
